Contra is a portal maker, using all her energy to create art that can, in an instant, transport a person to somewhere new. Her portals are meant to jolt you, carry you into a new future where the noise from the global underground gives it a distinct, unfaltering quality.  

Through film, music, experiences she designs or her creative direction and strategy Contra brings to the fore worlds that are laced with an existential, esoteric sensibility alongside an ambitious, indulgent aesthetic informed by global currents. She creates art with an immersive, illusory and sensory method that seeks to take her audience deep into a universe and show them how powerful an old story with a new way of looking at it can be. 

Through her work in Cartel Madras, an expansive and experimental music project she is signed to Sub Pop Records. She is the Creative Director and one of the founders of FOREIGNERZ art & production house. Challenging cities, industries, and narratives to allow new voices in is at the very centre of how Contra pursues all her creative endeavours; furthering culture and allowing art to thrive. Her leadership in the arts has lead to her being sought out for her creative direction and artistic philosophy by various arts institutions in Calgary and Canada including Sled Island, Calgary International Film Festival, Arts Commons, Pink Flamingo, Debaser, BUMP Festival, Calgary Queer Arts Society, Calgary PRIDE, Beakerhead and more.
